Yvette is phenomenal. She is fully focused on me when she teaches. She has a clear, organized structure to every class, starting with warm ups and spending ample time on specific pieces. Whenever I finish singing an exercise or song, Yvette asks, even before giving her feedback: "How did that feel for you?". This shows her care - both towards my voice physically, but also towards my own input as her student. One of my favorite things about Yvette is that she fully respects my commitment to singing. She knows how much I want to become an excellent singer and she pushes me — with so much love and kindness — to achieve that. This is what distinguishes Yvette from all the other coaches out there: transforming students from beginner singers to full-fledged exceptional singers is her goal. I know for a fact that with her, I can achieve my singing goals (and this is after having previous singing teachers). My four daughters, ages 11, 9, 7, and 5 years old, all study voice with Yvette. We tried several voice teachers until I found Yvette. Each of my girls, all with very different personalities, connect with and absolutely love Yvette! She is incredibly patient, talented, and dedicated to her students. I would love to highly recommend Yvette Keong as a voice teacher for all ages and experience levels. Yvette is a highly gifted voice teacher. In the past year that she has been my own voice coach, I have experienced only the utmost joy, passion, and love in her teaching. From the time I was little, I’ve always wanted to be able to sing with enough proficiency that I lost my inhibitions and could make real music with friends or by myself. The extent of my singing experience was the lullabies that lulled my children.

And this sad state of voice proficiency was how I presented myself to a very patient, incredibly kind Yvette Keong, voice teacher extraordinaire.  

As intimidating as it might be to scratch out my songs to a singer with a Master's degree from Juilliard (a cocktail party conversation that always gets a laugh), Yvette has been nothing but supportive. In the short time I’ve been working with Yvette, the progress I’ve made has been astonishing. Her Zoom lessons are moving me, with each session and each new song learned, closer to my aim of being able to participate in making music comfortably and enjoyably (both to my own ears and the ears of those listening to me), a bucket-list goal.  

My weekly lessons fly by much too quickly, and I truly look forward to working with Yvette and her cheerful, professional nature each week. During my lessons, I get feedback on my technique, song suggestions, and receive exercises for daily practice, all delivered in an encouraging and helpful manner. Yvette is a good communicator, punctual, and dependable. 

I feel like I won the lottery when I landed on Yvette as my vocal teacher.

P.S. My husband and I traveled to New York City to hear Yvette sing in a Carnegie performance. Her voice is other-worldly gorgeous.

Yvette is a very kind, compassionate, and skilled voice teacher, and I am so glad that we have gotten to work together. I completely recommend her as a voice teacher. Yvette has been so helpful with my goals of learning auditions skills and strengthening my technique for theater rehearsals, and has given me the confidence to reach and expand my singing goals.
